The story of Starfire Bakery & 1A Coffee Roasters is rooted in friendship, shared passion, and a love of the culinary world. The deep connection between Brian and Chrystal of 1A Coffee and Andrew and Carolyn of Starfire Bakery brought together years of collective experience, global travels, and inspiration from the world’s great food and coffee cultures. That collaboration has made Starfire a true regional destination, offering the flavors, techniques, and traditions we’ve discovered and loved, all right here in Southern Vermont.
Our Journey
Starfire Bakery began in 2019 as a small home bakery, selling at our local farmer’s market and creating celebration cakes and treats for anyone seeking something delicious. In 2020, we moved to Vermont—our dream home and the perfect place to raise our family and pursue our food adventure. For years, we baked and delivered across southern Vermont, met incredible people, and built lasting connections. This journey led us to our first storefront at 103 W Main St in Wilmington, where we shared our passion for bread, pastries, and cakes with our community.
Created by Carolyn and Andrew, Starfire has always been inspired by Italian pastries in Boston’s North End, as well as the spices and flavors of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and European foods. Our goal has been to blend refined technique with comforting classics, all while embracing the bounty of Vermont’s seasons.
A New Chapter
In May 2025, we brought together 1A Coffee Roasters and Starfire Bakery in a new flagship space at 129 Route 9 East, Wilmington, VT. This partnership blends world-class specialty coffee with artisan baking, creating a one-of-a-kind experience under one roof.

Weekly specialty coffee roasting on our Diedrich roaster, featuring rotating single-origin coffees from across the globe.
A full menu of carefully crafted espresso drinks like flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos.
House-made cold brew and a complete specialty tea menu.
The full range of breads, pastries, viennoiseries, and cakes all crafted with care and inspired by our travels.
